Friendly Societies.

[Wanganui Herald. J

The interest that is now being taken m Friendly Societies m Wanganui is perfectly wonderful. It seems that the business at the different lodges con" sists principally m initiating members. Last night the Foresters made six new members, and received five applications of candidates willing to join. A significant feature m connection with these accessions to the Foresters is, that they are nearly all young unrairritid men. This is a good sign. When young men seek to make provision against misfortune, it is c ear that there is some moral influence at work, which is calculated to benefit not only themselves but' the community at large. We trust that this revival m the business of Friendly Societies will continue to extend.
