W. Lingards BankRUPTCY.
MEETING OF CREDITORS.
Messrs Cross and Filmerwere declared duly elected Trustees. — Mr Harley said ttoa^from what he knew of Wanganui
during the last few years, action of some sort was need«d to prevent people being Jet m by snch persons as their friend Mr Lingard. He moved, That m the interest of the commercial community to prevent such reckless tracing, the debtor to opposed by tbe Trustees m endeavouring to effect his discharge, the expense to come out of the estate. If the meetin* would not agree to this motion, he would cprtamly oppose the debtor himself, at his own expense and on all occasions Mr wished to say that he did not care if the discharge waa suspended thirty years instead of three. He recognised his debts as a moral obligaion, which he would p*y back whenever his luck changed. Mr Hariey said that he intended his motion to suapend the discharge for the full statutory terra of t'uree years — iMr Charles Sharps seconded it — The motion was put, and lost on a show of hands.
