Auckland, 'Jhis Day, Miss Annie Alice Crisp, late nursing Bister at the Herbert Army Medical Hospital, Wcolwieh, has been appointed lady superintendent of the Auckland Hospital. She served m South Africa and m the campaign m Egypt. Mr "W. J. McDonnell, dockkeeptr, has been presented by the Chairman of the Harbour Board with the Royal Humane Society's medal lor 6a?ing the life Henry Mitchell, while drowniDg m the harbour some time ago. The City Council intend, with other legacies under the Costley bequest j to memorialise the Government for the remission ot legacy duty, and also for the repeal of the clause m the Act requiring duty where legaciepj are lelt to public i&ititutiosi.j
