Resolved that the Public Works Committee be a Committee to deal with the above matter. RESOLUTION. That'this Council considers the time has come when the Government should commence the construction ot the Bailway .Line between Palmersfcon and Woodville, as m its opinion much time will Be required m the construction of the connection with the Gorge portion, whilst that portion from Palmerston to lAshurst will be payable fo/thwith, and otthe greatest possible advantage to this portion of the district and the West Goast generally. That the Town Clerk again write to the Wellington Board of College Governor asking them whether they agree to •the request of this Council for the Government to transfer to us the sections we require for a hospital site, and m the event of no action having been taken by them that the Borough Solicitor be instructed to draft a Bill for instructions to Parliament to have the said sections conveyed to this Town Council. ,-...'.■ \ FINANCIAL. :.., ''The, estimate of Keceipts and Expenditure for the current year was read <y the Mayor m detail, who stated that the expenditure had been cut as fine as it was possible to be, and that the revenue had not be n over estimated.
