His Excellency the Goverapr and the rice-regal party left in the Hinemoafor th c South at four o'clock this-afternoon. The whole; WolahteerO Force, under Colonel Lvon, formed a guard of honor. The Hinemoa lay at the Railway wharf, which was crowded with about 'JibOO people. As the carriage containing the Governor, Lady Jervois, Miss Jervois, add the suite, reached the wharf, the Volunteer Band played the -National Anthem, and: the Brigade. fired;. seven* teen guns. The Mayor received the vice-regal party at the steamer's gangway,- arid escorted Lady Jervois ; on board. On the steamer were congregated a number of the members ofr the Legislature, the leading citizens, Bishop Uowie, 'Modsighore EynesV'and other clergymen, who paid their adieus. As the. Hinemoa. slowly steamed from -the wharfj the Major called for three cheers for the governor j which t were heartily responded to by. the large assemblage, and indeed cheering was kept, up till the vessel qjot fairly .uMer . weigh, jUis Excellency bowed his "acknowledgements, and lifted his hat repeatedly m response to the cheers, the band playing " Auld Lang Syne.'! the party carried away with them the best I wishes of the Auckland people.
