Serious Accident.
We regret to hear of a very serious accident wluchj)efel Mr. _ Heaton,- sea. when re taming from Ashurst last evening^ On the Stoney Ceek road be met Mr Whibley's dr<»y, with which Mr Heatou's, bread-cart collided, the road being narrow. He was thrown heavily from the cart, and received very severe injuries to the brain and spine!. Mr Venn Was coming behind, and and brought him to Palmerston, where Dr. Harvey was called m, Mr Heaton. theri bnnsf pulseless, , c&ld, and ua* conscioils; with an remitting care and very skilful treatment animation was restored, and : ha is now progressing favourably, though the exact extent or nature of hiß injuries cannot be ascer-* tamed for some days. He is evidently very much shaken, and it;is feared will be an'invilid for some considerable time to come. We trust to heaq that favorable gym ptions have shown themselves.
