Suicide.
We have just learnt of a strange Buicido which occurred at the Gorge on Fri'lay last. A young man named Charles Marsom, who was married about 3 months ago to a Miss Gardiner, of Oroua. and who has been rather peculiar of late, was seen by two travellers to jump mto the river, near thf» Gorge Bridge, and his body ha>- not*yet been recovered. He cooeyed to attract the nttention of the horsemen, and then deliberately leaped m. On the bank were found his purse, hat, shirUsturts, and a few other articles. He had been seen wandering along the bank of the river, peering into its depths, for some two or three days before, apparently dreading to take the final leap. His widow is believed to be staying at Sandon, or Oroua. He had previously written to her stating his attention of destroying himself, and savin? his body would be found near the Gorge Bridge. The in* quest may possibly reveal the cause of his C'immitt.insr suicid«\
