The Wesleyan Concert.

We again remind our readers of,th« Wesley an Concert to take place this evening. Very successful rehearsals have been held almost eTery night recently, with the result that the«o is every prospect of a most successful affair, even from a severely critical point of view. We believe the verdict will be. that a' better concert has not before been, given m Manawatu. to those who' enjoy really high-class music, .arid the, faithful rendition of the works of the best composers,, the coricert to-night promises to be a genuine treat, the more.; enjoyable m proportion as the oppor-i tunities afforded are limited m nnmWr.Somemighfc think the Wesley an Church choir had attempted a too ambitious flight m selecting the, programme now appearing m our advertising columns ; | but, with the really; cultured voices |ot their command, and taking into consideration the regular and painstaW ing rehearsals, with ; which the choirmaster has taken no end v>f trouble, we believe the audience will be satisfied with the results; and will admit that j those taking part ha ve acquitted themselves most creditably. Considering the good cause to be aidedj the low charge of admission, and the favourable sta'e of f ho weather, we anticipate as large an au'lrense as the building will com* fortably accommodate ; and that tliey will be more th*n pleased with the, programme submitted arid the manner of its execution y we have no doubt whatever. Many are looking forward to a couple of hours genuine enjoyment, and we vencure to predict that they wUI not be disappointed.
