ROYAL COLLEGE OF MUSIC.

The Boyal College of Music was opened to-day by the Prince of Wales m the presence of a large and distinguished assemblage. The proceedings passed off with great eclat. In the course of his opening address, His Royal Highness took occasion to thank Sir W. J. Clarke and Sir Thomas Elder ot AustraHa for their scholarships to the college. It is announced that Mr Q. A. McFarren and Mr Arthur S. Sullivan, the well-known musicians, and Mr George Grove, have been knighted foe their services m connection with the Royal College of Music.
