An inquest was recently held at Wells Yorkßb»e/by T the county coroner, on the body of Bichard Scurrah, blacksmith, aged 68 yeara. The deceased^ who lived m a hovel jaear the village, not having been seenVor some days, the house was broken into by the police, who found him dead m bed. On the premises being examined, upwards of £3000 was found upon a beam m the Kitchen,, and mortgage deeds to the value of several hundred of pounds were also found m an old chest. As the deceased had no relatives, the whole of the property will go to the Crown. > : A~plrfnter's" towel fell out of a s third■tory- window; in a New Jersey town, the. other day, and .cracked a paving stone.
