Local Industry.

GREYTOWtf CHEBsfc V (Wairarapa. Standard.) / : We have much satisfaction "in noting the fact that the, cheese .prpdaoed, by the Greytown factory is now coming steadily into use. Messrs Castleberg and Company, ofGreyto.wn, have given their cheese factory .their first really, imports ant order by purchasing two tona.pf the cheese frpua them, at a satisfactory price. The company had; about ,4j tons > of cheese m stock, and this order takes about one half ofit. The cheese bought by Messrs Caselberg and Co.jjsof excellent quality, and , flavor, and-will.. no doubt be readily purchased by, oustpmprs; It is good sign to see an important local profitable market./ In truth, the es'tab* lishment of this industry is a good thins; m every way. Tne cheese fac-» tory affords a good market for our farmers to dispose; of the : r milk, while the work of the manufactory gives a certain amount employment of labor, more or less skilled. Then f the money obtained for the cheese is just so much of an addition to the stock of cash for the most part retained m the place and put into distribution.. As yet, the present is only the day of small thing's with our local cheese factory, bat the industry will rapidly develop, and, m time, assume large proportions. It is anticipated that ( ;next .■ year the; factory , will turn out from 20 to 30 tons of cheese, and year by year the output will become larger. We have no doubt that ere long cheese will, become an important export from this part of the Wairarapa district.— Since the .foregoing was written we learn that the^followiug additional orders have been supplied by the Greytown Cheese Factory, viz., Messrs ft. ..J. Thompsony Greytown, scwb ; W. Booth and Messrs Gallic and Co., sowt each. All express exn press themselves as highly satisfied with the quality of the article.
