POLITICAL RUMOURS.
We extract the following from a tear?* ing article m tbe Thames Advertiser : — "Connected with the Inangahua conttst 'it has transpired' — as the cable says regarding Irish conspiracies — that there is a scheme or plot on foot to the effect that should Mr E. Wakefield win the seat, an effort will be made to reconstruct the Ministry by taking Mr Wakbfield into it — m what capacity he is not particular — shunting ' old Whitaker,' and giving the * bag ' to such feeble makeweights as Dice, Oliver, Johnston, and Connolly. The ' strong men, 1 Rolleston, Brtoe, and Atkinson, are, the story goes, to *>c retained, and an effort made to add Mi E. G. Wright, ot Ashburton, to the te»m, m addition to Mr Wakefield, and probably Mr Larnach as . representing Otago. Atkinson is said to be the expected Premier for this Ministry of the talents." =
