Sixty«three ounces of stone from the Great Republic and Great Waiwanga were crushed atthe Bank of New Zaa* land this afternoon, and yielded one pennyweight eight grains of gold, or ' equal to about twenty-five ounces to the ton. The particular stone crushed did not show gold freely before crushing. The company are about putting m a low level to cut the reef, which has been tracel 2QQ feet. , Jk' : Mining news from Mokihinui uT^ry". encouraging. The .Red (Queeri has c driven 130 feet on the reef, which is about one foot wide. The Guiding Star • has driven 150 feet on a three-feet neef. The stone m both claims continues as rich as ever.
