A GOOD SUGGESTION.
Ag a means ol saving annoyance to those who might unwittingly offend against the municipal or rolice regulations, the ex -Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce spoke at the annual meeting m favour of the system of enabling the offenders to plead guilty and pay a small fine, without the necessity of the Police Court. He referred his hearerß to an article whi^h appeared m the London Mail, ot the the sch October, on this subject. Be deprecated a system which entailed so much trouble and annoyance on respectable -persons who were compelled to go to Court for pome trivial mistake committed by a servant, and considered that the acknowledgment of the error and the payment of a small fine would quite meet the case.
