AFFAIRS IN THE TRANSVAAL.

Extra magazines are being established at the docks and Government offices. Mr Foster urges that the convention should be strictly observed m South Africa, or England should withdraw altogether. A. Zulu d°putation is proceeding to Natal to urge the restoration of the reserves. The British Resident appears to have no influence with Cetewayo. , la the House of Commons to-day a debate took place upon the policy of the Government m regard to the treatment of the Transvaal natives by the Boers. Mr W. E. Foster strongly condemned the 'measures proposed to be taken with the view to put a stop to the oppressive action of the Boers. Mr Gladstone made a lengthy defence of the Government policy, and the debate was then adjourned until after the Easter recess.
