(BY EDECTBIC TELEGRAPH. — COPYRIGHT.) [UNITED PRESS >SSOCr,ATICN. I London, March 17. The attempt to blow up the new Government offices m Parliamentscra^t with dynamite was made by placing tho explosive on the balustrade oa!fc§i]de the portion of the building occupied by the Local Government Department, the basement of which was entirely wrecked by the explosion. No lives were lost, but for a radius of a hundred yards every window was broken, and huge blocks of masonry were hurled a considerable distance. The walls and floors of the Houses of Parliament trembled greatly. In the second attempt to blovv np the publishing office of The Times/something went wrong with the vessel containing the explosive, and so the attempt failed. 'I he Press generally regard these attempts as a response on the part of the Fenians to the rejection by the House of Commons of Mr Parnell's suggestions for the amandment of the Land Bill. No clue has yet been obtained to the perpetrators of the outrages at offices of the Local Government Board snd the London Times! A reward of £1000 is offered for information leading to the arrest of the guilty parties. In the case of explosion m Whitehall, the military guards at the various ministerial offices and at the Houses of Parliament have been doubled, and all necessary precautions are being taken to prevent further outrages. A Dead Meat Storage Company is projected. It proposes to secure extended chambers under Smithfield r .Markefc, to be fitted up with refrigerating apparatus. The. capital Is £100,000.
