MR PARK ELL AND THE LAND . ACT. BREACH OF PROMISE CASE AGAINST A PROMINENT LAND LEAGUER. THE WARRANT AGAINST SHERIDAN ANNULLED.

In the House of Commons to-day Mr Parnell introduced a motion Betting forth that a further amendment of the Irish Land Act is necessary. Mr Gladstone stated that he absolutely relused to egree to farther legislation m the direction stated, and after some debate the motion was rejected by 250 to 63 votes. Mr J. G. Biggar, M.P. for Oavan, Ireland, has been mulcted m £300 damages for breach of promise of marriage. March 16. An arrest has been made m connec- j tibn with the letter containing explosive materials addressed to the Viceroy of Ireland/which was> recently detected m ; the {.oat- at B'allydehol, County Cork, Ireland. It is understood that the American and English Governments have agreed to renounce the warrant issued for the arrest oi Sheridan, the supposed negotiator of the alleged Kilmainham treaty, Mr Parnell has refused to accept the money subscribed for the purpose of ieiea-ing his Wicklow estates from encumbrance. .Daniel itgiui, be ore leaving Ireland, vested tiie League funds m Mr Parnell's name, with Mr Biggar and Mr Justin MoGurtby, as trustees.
