Peter Lalor has been re» elected Speaker of the Legislative Assembly without opposition. The signs of a Liberal-Conservative coalition are increasing. The trial of Thompson, stationmaster, and the guard, Hunt, for manslaughter m connection with the Hawthorn railway accident m December last, was concluded to-day . The jury returned a verdict of not guilty m each case.
