[b« telegraph. 1 "(united peess association.) New Plymouth, Fob. 26. Very heavy rain fell daring Friday' and Saturday and on Sunday morning till about; four o'clock. The rivers have not been so high for years, yet the only damage to be beard of is a culvert on the Waitara railway bursting, ripping up about two lengths of rail, which was. repaired yesterday, and anocher culvert, bursting the roadway on the junction, road between New Plymouth and Inglewood. At Waitara about 200 feet 6f a temporary stone wallw.is undermined and ■ washed down, and some other damages, done to 'the extent of £6 1) or. £70. At the New Plymouth Harbour wk>i ks there has been a landslip near the Fishing Rock, which will assist the next I blasting.
