TENDERS FOR SLEEPERS.
The Public Works Department elsewhere invite tenders for the supply of 20,000 totara sleepers, for use on the Waikato Thames Railway. Tenders will be received at the Public Works Office, Wellington, untilnoon on Friday, the 9th of March, 1883. They are to be marked on the outside, « Tender for Sleepers/, and addreßsed to. the Hon. the Minister for Public Works. Telegraphic tenders, similarly addressed and marked, will be received if presented at any telegraph office by noon ot the same c'ate, provided that tenders as above are lodged at any District or Resident Engineer's Office by.ihe same hour. .Specifications and general conditions may be seen at this office; at the Public Works Offices, Auckland and Wanganui ; at the Railway Stations, New Plymouth, A'apier, and Foxton; and at the Warden's Office, Grahamstown. The lowest or any tendor will not necessarily be accepted. We trust a Mmawatu contractor will 03 the successful tenderer, than whom none should be m a better position to compete.
