(united press association.). Dunedin, Feb *6. . The man Dobbie was committed tor trial at the Police Court to-day on two further charges of -stealing sewing machines. This makes about a dozen cases against him. The rabbit nuisance is causing much interest m the interior of Otago. One runholder m Wakatipu declares that his run does not carry within one-third of the sheep it did four years ago. He strongly advocates the introduction of the ferrets, saying that a thousand men laying phosphoriaed grain would not clear that district of rabbits. Nelson, Feb. 6. A Mr Monkhouse, * who has been staying here some short time, lately went to Bellgrove, and this morning he was found dead m. his bed at the Bellgrove inn. Deceased is believed to have bean a solicitor formerly resident m Auckland, and was apparently about sixty years of age. The cause of death is supposed to be heart disease. An inquest is to be held. flopopickinsr has commenced m the Takaka gardens." The yield there is said to be magnificent. A private cablegram states that the Christchurcb. College has swept all the first-claBS honours m the New Zealand University examination .
