(HERALD CORRESPONDENT.) Taitpo, Jan. 30. Rawiri Te Kahu has come -to Tanpo and reported that m the absence of Te Hen Heu, Topia, and other influential chiefs, who are accompanying Tawhaio on his tour, a nntive named. Kiugi Here Kiekio, back' d by about 100 natives, arrived on Friday last at Tauiangi, Taupo, and stated tbat they would not allow the construction of the road be* tween this and 1 okano, and have likewise put up poles to obstruct the survey of the line of toad. This piece of braggadacio has been reported to the officer m charge.
