Several papers, together with halves of bank notes, have been found near the Post Office, evidently a portion of thn recent robbery, but there is as yet no clue to the thieves. Thomas Clausen, a well-known mining speculator of Maryborough, whi'e inspecting the Ada mino at Bar medan, New South Wales, fell down tbe shaft, annd was killed on the spot, A case of mysterious disappearance, a supposed suicide, occurred on Monday. EJ. S. Harris, forraorly head master of Bpechworth Gi-arnmar School, came to Melbourne m order to answer grave charges of misconduct. Jle took a boat upon the Yarra, which was afterwards found containing his clsthes. A man. named Brown, attempted to enter a train m motion, at Richmond, last nigh*, with the inual result. He fell between the train and the platform, and was cut into pieces. . Sydney. At an inquest held upon the remains of John Catan, whose body was found m Darling harbor, a verdict was given that he died from being bitten by a shark whilst bathing. Adelaide, William Burnos was executed on I Thursday. The man Henton, who was for some time second Rteward on board the T.ararua, died of consumption. Before his dea'h he expressed his anxiety abo'it a large iron»boiand box, and asked his friends to forward ib to his brother m San Francisco. Suspicion was at once aroused, and ib was found to contain an ingot of gold, weighing 2700z, which is believed to be his share of the plunder. It is also thought that he had accomplices.
