John Robinson.
There is a resident, of FeiMing who bears tha name of John Robinson, a patroymnic nearly as uncommon as Smith, Brown, or Jones. Well, John Robinson has been interdicted from the privilege of obtaining spiritous liquors, doubtless for bis own benefit, and the order has been made to apply to the licensed victuallers reaident m Palmer* ston North, all of whom have been served with notices to the effect. To-day the inquiry has been, " Who the deuce is John Robinson ?'' " Does any body know John Robinson?'' When a stranger comes into the bar.he is straightway asked, " Is your name John Robin* son.?" Perhaps the sojourner does not relish th°se interriog^tions, and nny ask, " What the (expletive) busi« ness is it of yours what my name is." And thus complications arise and ara likely to arise, and all" because of this John Robinson, j Mr Walkley of the Commercial m an advertisement requpsts to be lurnished with John Robinson's photo, marks, or numbers, so that he may recogn ; z3 him when he appeals, and avoid the riak of gating his 'head punched by asking every third visitor to his bar it his name" is John Robinson.
