Kins Tawhiao.
His .Maori Majesty passed through. Palmerßton with his retinue at 9.30.' this morning from Awahuri, en route for Awanuni. His following of mounted men caused some stir m the place as he passed through. The King rode m the centre of his body guard, and was distinguished by wearing a bell-topper hat, and a sash. No stoppage was made by the main body m Palmereton, the roai being kept down the Foxton Line to their destination. On inquiry we learn that it was Tawhiao's wish to accept the invitations sent him- from Bulls and Sandon, but his people would not hear of his « turning, back m hie footsteps," and so the route was changed. We understand there is to be a .. war*dance on an impressive scale at Awapuni this evening?' ' ' ■
