Fdr'Prießtly's defence a maa named Edwards, swore; that Priestly was at Onehanga at the house of another man named Joseph Lee, who, being deaf, would not know Priestly had been m his house, as he came m after Lee had gone to bed, ' Witness had been on a spree, and could not remember the date. In cross-examination witness admitted that he had been sent from England to Tasmania, but not for forgery ; had done. goal for larceny. ' i The evidence for the [defence is concluded, with the . exception of <tho evidence of Miss Annie Neilsdo, sister of Mrs' Hamilton.
