ARTIFICIAL MANURES.

In these days of close settlement, when the desire of every cultivator ol the soil is to get the best possible results therefrom, the man who does not use fertilisers finds that his neighbors who do come out on top every season, and are able to provide for a comfortable old age ; whereas his banking account is a diminishing quantity and he is liable to be looked upon as one of the old school of tillers of the soil —an antiquated fossil, in fact. The Ohri.-t----'church Meat Company, through thai* representative, Mr Irving, will come to the aid of the last mentioned individual and demonstrate that by the judicious use of the fertilisers they have placed upon the market for §hops, rape, turnips, and other root and green crops, the land will be made to yield abundantly and the reproach of being old fashioned in ideas and methods for everbanished. During his peregrinations throughout the Nelson district Mr Irving will also solicit from those who have had practical proof of the richness and purity of their fertilisers a repeat order which we are assured by many will be most cheerfully given. -It should also be borne in mihd that freight on the Company's specialities is paid to Nelson, Motueka, Waitapu, am! that orders for any quantity will be booked.

The use of fertilisers in South Australia has increased enormously in recent years. The South Australian agriculturists used 40,000 tons in 1902, baing an increase of #2,000 tons over the season 1899.
