CHAMBERLAIN'S COUGH REMEDY Is intended especially for coughs, cokls' croup, Whooping cough and intiuenza. It has become famous for its cures of these diseases over a [arg.e part of the civilised world. i"he most flattering testimonials have been received, giving accounts of its good works ; of the aggrevating and persistent coughs it has cured; of severe colds that have yielded promptly to its soothing effects, and'of the dangerous attacks of croup it has cured, often saving the life of the child. The extensive use of it for whooping cough has shown that- it robs that disease of all dangerous results. It is especially prized by mothers because it contains nothing injurious, and there is not the least danger in giving it, even to babies It always cures and cures quickly. A" Manoy sells it.
The Wellington Licensing Committee made one excellent suggestion. The Chairman said people liked to get their drinks served up clean, and the committee objected to wash-up tubs in bars without any convenience as to taps,- He believed there were only about tour hotels in the city with proper conveniences in this respect. They wete very pleased to see the excellent arrangements at the Royal Oak, where the water for washing up was as clean as could be got. It was all very well to say these wash up tubs were cleansed two or three .times a day. The committee would like to see all the houses provided with' ivm-away water taps, sinks and plugs, so that the water could run away. The committee could not insist upon these things, but they Wt-uld like to see them done.
Judge Adams, the county Court judge at Limerick, has described the motor-ear hs "the greatest curse known since the first batch of English landed in Ireland."
The Minister for Education is being urged by Mr T. McKenzie to distribute the extra 9d capitation voted last session chiefly for assisting school committees.
Some of the letters received by memb')s from their constituents afford very humorous reading. One member got a 1 tter the other day from a man who wanted a grant of public money to enable him to have his garden cultivated. The Wellington tobacoonistsare complaining teat while they are compelled to close on the weekly half-holiday, the articles they are thus prevented from selling may be sold on that day in hotels and clubs. A petition on the subject was presented last week by Mr Aitken.
