MOTUEKA INSTITUTE.
The annual.meeting of members of trie Motueka Institute was held last night, Mr A. Miller in the chair.
The balance sheet, read by the treasurer. Mr G. S. Huffam, shewed the receipts for the past year, for Institute and Library, to be .£lO5 10s Bd, including .£43 2s 2d balance brought forward. The expenditure amounted to £64 19s 3d, leaving the sum of .£4O lis 5d to be carried forward. It was also mentioned that sundry improvements had been effected, including the building of a chimney and the erection of a pump.
On the motion of Mr Harris, seconded by Mi A. Manoy, the balance sheet and report were adopted and a vote of thanks passed to the outgoing committee ; to ilrSymes for acting as auditor. The election of the new committee was then proceeded with, when Messrs Harris, Boundy, A. Miller, E. Parker, and G. S. Huffam were appointed. This concluded the business, after which the new committee met and elected Mr Harris chairman, Mr Parker secretary and Mr Huffam treasurer.
