A VALUABLE PUBLICATION.

Mr A. BL Chadwiek,- representing Messrs Stone r Son a-nd'Co.-.was in Motueka last week delivering Stone's Canterbury,. Nelson, Marlborough, and Westland Directory for 1903. This very useful publication is increasing m bulk every successive j'ear and a careful glance through its pages reveals the fact that great care has been exercised in compilation. To the business and professional man it' is invaluable, for besides being a directory of the districts it is issned for r it contains an alphabetical disectory r with list of professions and trades ;. a list of runholders and sheepowners and number of .sheep owned by each owner of 1000 and upwards - T municipal and county information ; harbo- boards, hospital and charitable institutions ; official and judicial, educational and ecclesiastical directories ; friendly and other societies; post and telegraph information, etc. Included in the volume are two maps, one of the colony and reference .street map of Christchurch and suburbs. In the section known as "Stone's New Zealand Annual" there, are 133 pages of information relating to the whole of the colony which embraces the Impounding and Dog Registration Acts, Customs tariff', imports and exports, Australasian Statistics, etc. In fact, as one newspaper states "It is the most complete directory of its kind published inany of the colonies." The printing is good and clear, the binding all that can be desired, and the volume is a credit to the publishers and compilers. Messrs Stone, Son and Co.
