I <;Mr Davis, an American, who is ex" ploring near Thebes, on the Uppe r Nile, has discovered a splendid chariot in the tomb of King Thotmes IV. (Eighteenth Theban Dynasty, B.C. 1533). The fittings are of bronze and the rest is gilded wood. The chariot is valued at LSOOO. Hoarseness in a child that is subject to croup is a sure indication of the approach of the disease.
