The winter session of the Motueka Literary and Debating Society is to be opened on Wednesday evening, when a debate will take place on the question " That novel reading, as generally practised today, is harmful." Mr Harris will affirm, and Mr W. Moffatt oppose. We hope to see the meetings well attended, especially by the rising generation, who can receive much benefit from such institutions:
Mr Thos. Heath, of Pokororo, informs us that he has disposed of the draught mare lecently advertised. He has still for sale the dog cart and a good set of harness.
The Paparoa correspondent of *the Auckland Weekly News, states that Dr Dukes, of Motueka, has decided to commence practice in that district, at the invitation of the medical committee. - /
