CORRESPONDENCE.
To the Editor.
Sir : I would like to point out the unreasonableness of some members of the Motueka Fruitgrowers' Co-opera-tive Society who are taking every opportunity to condemn the Association as a total failure. Such action is inexcusable. It is well known that about 150 tons of sulphurised raspberries have been shipped to London, and is being carried to market as fast as steam can take it, and in common fairness shareholders should wait for the consignee's opinion before giving credence to our Colonial expert's statements. One expert guaged our crop at 600 tons, whereas only 290 were received at the company's works, and I think oil their statements should be averaged accordingly. That sulphurised raspberries do make good jam is, and has been, well known in the colony for many years. As far as we can judge the prospects of returns for fruit for this season will be far betterthan is generally supposed. At the coming half yearly meeting the Committee of Management will be in a better position to satisfy enquiring shareholders. I am, etc.. Charles E. Lowe, Manager.
