HINTS ON FEEDING POULTRY.
Barley is fattening. Give greenstuff daily. Give a variety of grains. •Wheat is the standard grain. Give barley only occasionally. Don't mix grit in the mash. Sloppy food causes diarrhoea. Cooked vegetables are fattenii g. Keep the feed troughs clean.. Rape is a splendid green food. Keep up the supply of grit at all times. Given bone grit is an egg producer. Supp 1 )' crocked oyster shells to the 'aver. Peas and pea rnea! are -valuable foods. Don't feed too much meat at a time. Green bone will make even moulting hens lay. Don't forget a pinch of salt in every mash. Ten percent of animal food is enough. Don't feed putrid boardinghouse i-efnse. Stale bread is a nice addition to the morn'ng-mash. Pure drinking water is a most important factor. Beans are an nnpalattble but valuable food for hens. Thev should i>e fed in the mash.
