UPPER MOUTERE ROAD BOARD.
The usual monthly meeting was held on 3»st January. Present :—Messrs Bueke chairman, G.. F., and O. Bensemann. and Drogmuller.
Accounts amounting to £4 14s qd were revived and passed. Correspondence was received from the Clerk Waimea County Council, notifying payment of balance 1902 rate; from" the treasury, Wellington, enclosing voucher tor payment of balance of grant, NeudorfDovedale road ; from the Chief Surveyor kelson, returning specifications of Government grant works, examined and approved lenders were opened for Government grant works on Neudorf-Dovedale and Upper Moutere roads, the following bein«accepted: Neudorf-Dovedale- -formation" C. lowers, 255; building bridge near W Bensemann's, C. Ewers, £lO i=;s Upper Afoutere roads—Rising Sun Valley road contracts 1 and 2, C. Drogmuller, jun., 17s od and 25s per chain ; contracts 3 and 4 E. and H. Eggers, £ 9 15s and £l l 12s ; new formation Supplejack Valley road, ]. Eggers, 27s 6d per chain. Suspension brid<?e Supplejack Valley, W. Ewers, £\6 Formation Blackbird Valley road,'contract 1, G. Peiry, 15s per chain ; contract 2, d' Ewers £7 Formation and gravelling Rosedale Road, H. F. C. Stade I=s Resolutions passed :—That no tenders having been received tor work on Manuka Road, that it be clone by day labour the chairman to engage men and supervise ; That five day's work be done on Supplejack Valley Road, cleaning watertables ; that two days repairing be" done on Ivelhng s road ; that the attention o! the inspector be directed to noxious weed growths along roads, which are fillincr U p water tables and causing damage to roads
