The Family had the honor of before the Prince and Princess ot Wales m Dunedin on the occasion of their visit to New Zealand. The Family consists of Mr John Black, Miss Nellie Vaugdan Black, his eldest daughter, two ycninger daughters, Master Bertie Black, and Mrs Black, who fills the position of accompanyist to the orchestra. Miss Nellie Black is the prima donna ; she has a splendid contralto voice, well trained, and highly praised, and she also shows skill in the instrumentation in violin solos, particularly in her imitations wherein she shows herself to be an artist of exceptional merit.
