MOTUEKA SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
The ordinary monthly meeting of the Motueka School Committee was held last night. Present: Messrs Rankin (chairman), Ryder, Wratt, Quayle, McFarlane.
Minutes of previous meeting read and confirmed.
The chairman referred to the success of the school picnic and concert and on the motion of Mr Ryder, seconded bv Mr Wratt, it was resolved that a hearty vote of thanks be accorded to MiHarris and the other teachers for the successful manner in which the functions were carried out. •
A hearty vote of thanks was also passed on the motion of Mr Wratt. seconded by Mr Macfarlane, to Miss Fearon for her kindness in placing her beaut'.ful grounds and cooking utensils at the disposal of the committee. Reference was also made to the fact that a pupil of the school, Natalie Jennings, had been successful in securing a scholarship at the Nelson College; the success being the more satisfactorv because no tuition had been given, after or before school as was the case in past years. It was decided to extend the holidays for another week, any further extension, if necessary, to be lefts to the Chairmau *nd Messrs Ryder and Knapp to decide upon. Accounts amouuting to L2 10s were passed for payment.
