MOTUEKA WHARF BOARD.

The ordinary meeting of the above Board was held yesterday afternoon. Present: Messrs Wratt (chairman], Everett and Beuke.

Minutes of previous meeting read and adopted. Accounts amounting to .£37 7s 9d were passed for payment. Resolved, on the motion of Mr Everett, seconded by Mr Beuke, That a policy of L2OO be taken out in the New Zealand Accident Insurance Com pany on the employes of the Board.

Resolved, that Dr Frengley be informed the nuisanee at the wharf complained of by him had been abated.

The following is the annual report of the wharfinger : 1 have the honor to present you with the annual report of the Motueka Wharf. During the past year business has been brisk and satisfactory. Large extensions to wharf and sheds have taken place and paid for out of accrued revenue. The direct mail service is being carried out to schedule time, and is proving of great service to the public. She protective works on the sandbank have stood fairly well, but will lequire attention when a heavy gale occurs at high water spring tides, The gross amount of revenne for the year was for wharfage L 447 10s lid, for storage LI 5 12s and for weighing L 6 lis 9d, making a total of L 469 14s 8d There were eight steamers :md ten sailing vessels engaged in the trade of the port. There were 426 arrivals and 426 departures, representing a total registered tonnage in and out of 26,312 tons. The exports of the district shew a marked increase, especially in fruit, eggs, and flax. The chairman considered the report very satisfactory, and on his motion it was received.

It was resolved that a cheque for L 29 12s 6d be drawn for interest due ou the Ist February, on wharf loan. *TResolved on. the motion of Mr Everett, seconded by the chairman, That a notice be posted at the urinals that anyone perpetrating a nuisance there be prosecuted. ; It was resolved to hold the next meeting of the Board on February 9th.
