RIWAKA ROAD BOARD.

The monthly meeting of the above Board was held last Friday. Present: Messrs Drummond [in the chair], Fry, James, Holder, and Cook. Y Minutes of previous meeting read ' and adopted. Accounts amounting to L4O 4s 6d were passed for payment. Letters were received from the Lmds"and Survey Department, Nelson, advising the payment into the Bank of New Zealand, Motueka, of L 67 16s 5d for road thirds accrued to 31st July 1902 ; also giving permission for the !: >oai-d to take road through section 31, Kaiteriteri Survey District and offeringto assist the Board in getting the r >ad proclaimed under the Land Act ■892 as soon as a satisfactory reply w »s received from the owner of the adj >ining section. Letter from the Clerk Waimea County. Council stating that of the

rates for 1901-2, which amounted to .£l3O 8s lOd, the Board had received £ll2 10s leaving the sum of £lB 18s lOd, which would be passed for payment at the next meeting of the Council.

On the motion of Mr Fry, seconded by Mt Holder, it was resolved that benders be invited for the supply and delivery of about 500 yards of gravel on the Riwaka "Valley road ; also, that tenders be invited for contract No. 2 ; that a sum not exceeding 18s be spent on the Marahau cart road. This concluded the business.
