CENTRAL MOUTERE SCHOOL
A \ correspondent writes : —The Central Moutere School had a most enjoyable picnic last Friday in Mr S. Silcock’s paddock. The friends of the children assembled in considerable nun bers, there being, it is said, over a hundred, which in such a sparsely settled district means that almost every one was there. The school children, their parents and friends spent a very enjoyable time, and did not leave until the darkness compelled them—so late was it, that one well-known gentleman took a neighbour’s hoise and drove home, without finding out his mistake. Mr and Mrs TeecC and family, as usual, did all they possible eould to make every one thoroughly comfortable and happy—and eveiy one appeared to be so—and it only shows how much a few leading people may do, when once they are determined to make things pleasant and agreeable. The school breaks up for the Christmas holidays on the 24th ij\st.
