Old residents of Blenheim declare that snow has fallen on parts of the stirrounding country wheie no snow has been seen for fifty years. A few days ago Mr J. A. Murdoch was sued at Kuraara by the Borough Council for being the possessor of an unregistered dog. Defendant, being a solicitor, defended his own case, and raised the rreliminary point that the summons was signed by a Justice, who was also a member of the prosecuting body, and, therefore, interested. The Mrgistrate held the point to be fatal and dismissed the case.

Says the Eketahuna Express : —An old pack-horse belonging to a settler in the Eketahuna district committed suicide the other day in a most deliberate and determined manner.
