Warwick (Q.) advises that a record price for wheat on the Darling Downs was ie_alised the other day, 600 bags from Freestone being sold at 5s 3d cash on the rails. This wheat is not considered to Vie of first class quality. The two year old daughter of Mr J. J. Robins, of Quoru, South Australia, pulled a tub of boiling water over herself while her mother was engaged washing, and she was so dreadfully scalded that she died a few hours after. The Government "Veterinaiian took three large tumours from the neck of a horse which was operated upon in Eketahuna. One of these was three inches long at its bed. A correspondent of the Rotoiua “Chronicle” writes to say that he has seen thousands of trout weighing from 51b to 151 b going up the Tahupa-atara river to spawn. Especially good sport is anticipated during the coming season in the streams round and about Atiamuri. -
