SMOKE CONCERT.

OurNgatimoti correspondent writes : —A very pleasant evening was spent last Monday at a smoke concert in the Ngatimoti school, to welcome back Trooper Hudson, of the 7th contingent, from South Africa Mr Guy called on Mr R. Lloyd, the oldest man in the room, to welcome our trooper back, and who, in a neat little speech, said that on behalf of Trooper Hudson’s schoolfellows and friends he was very pleased to give him a hearty welcome and concluded by wishing him a long, prosperous and happy life, and asking the company to drink to the health of Trooper- Hudson, which was right loyally done. Trooper Hudson returned thanks and showed many of the things which he had brought with him from South Africa. Trooper- Hudson leaves for West Coast on Friday.
