STOCK SALES. Christchurch, June 5. At Addington market yesterday 184 fat cattle were yarded, mostly useful sorts, with a few heavy weights. A slightly improved demand for beef from 19s 6d to 24s 6d. Heavy steers, £9 to £ll 10s, others £5 15s to £8 l Os, heifers £5 10s to £8 10s, cows £4 17s 6d to £8 15s for extra heavy. Fat Sheep —Over 6000, mostly ewes, with a few good lines of freezing wethers. Freezing wethers and secondary ewes easier, but prime sorts in good demand for the local trade.
