To Prevent Croup, begin in time. The first symptom is hoarseness ; this is soon followed by a peculiar rough cough, which is easily recognized and will never be forgotten by one who has heard it. The time to act is when the child first becomes hoarse. If Chamberlain’s Cough Remedy is freely given, all tendency to croup will soon Jdisappear. Even after the croupy cough has developed, it will prevent the attack. There is ho danger in giving this remedy as it contains nothing injurious. It always cures and . cures quickly. A. Manoy sells it. A gentleman who has returned to New Zealand from South Africa says he is certain that as soon as peace is declared a huge population will pour into the country to take the place of the soldiers at present there, and that there will be an immense demand for supplies of all kinds for many years to come. It is for our farmers to be up and doing, so that we should be able to take advantage of this new order of things. A sectiou of land in Masterton, which originally cost £1 per acre, is valued this year at £IOO per foot. A curious coincidence is reported from Wanganui. Six women with babies t met together recently, and agreed to vote which was the handsomest infant. Each baby got one vote.—Exchange.
