WELLINGTON WOOL AND SKIN SALE.
Murray, Roberts and Co. report . We offered 51 bales of wool and 1500 sheepskins on Friday. The bidding was brisk for all lines, and the catalogue was cleared at prices a trifle in advance of last sale’s rates. We quote : Wool—Crossbred, medium clean and bright, 3|d to 4|d per lb ; coarse, 3§d to per lb ; stained and seedy, to per lb ; locks and pieces, Id to 2d per lb. Skins—Merinos, 4|d to per lb ; halfbreds, 3|d to 4|d per 111 ; crossbreds, medium to fine, 3|d to 3|d per lb ; coarse, 2|d to 3|d per lb ; short, 2d to 3d per lb ; dead and hoggets, 2d to 2|d ; lambs medium to fine 3d to 4d. The date of next sale is the 16th May, 1902. Messrs Levin and Co., Limited, report : —We offered 25 bales wool and a quantity of skins. The wool sold at good figures, and skins were in good demand, some lines selling at quite a farthing advance. We quote—Merino skins, to s|d per lb; fine crossbreds, 3;§d to 4=M ; medium, 31d to 3*d; dead, l|d to 2d.
