Jackson and Co (in^conjunction with Messrs Abraham and Williams) report that at their fcale at John son ville, near "Wellington, on Friday as follows :—The entry of beasts at Johnsonville, with the exception of a few pans, c insisted of medum to very lignt bullocks. Best bullocks made £8 7s fid to ,£8 15s ; others, £7 15s to £8 5s ; light bullocks, .£6 10s to £7 ss, averaging 20s to 21s per 1001 b. A large entry of sheep of inferior quality met a poor demand. AUCKLAND, March 13. Oats are in strong demand this week, and the local market is bare. Canterbury speculative buyers have unsuccessfully tried to buy in the Auckland market. Business has been done for April and May delivery at 2s s|d and 2s 6d. .fi-esent rates are 3s to 3s Id, c.i.f ; local dun" 2s 6d to 2s 7d. Wheat remains firm at the following rates : Fowl wheat, 3s 7d ; Southern milling, 2s lid to 3s. Flour shows no change this week, quotations being L 8 10s to L 8 15s. Bran and sharps are in lair demand. Bron, L 4 5s ; sharps, L 4 15s A good demand exists for good potatoes, but inferior kinds are dull of sale. Derwents, L 3 5s to L 3 10s. Maize —Arrivals this week totalled 1000 sacks. Lines on the wharf sold freely at 2s 4d, with a good demand for South. Onions are plentiful at local 6s to 6s 6d per cwt. Eggs have been unusually scarce, and the price advanced from Is Is 3d wholesale. The butter marletis unaltered; Dairy Association Is per lb ; factory, lid to Is; separator 8d ; dairy, 7d. The glut in the fruit market is oveiyV and betterprices rule in all lines but apples.
