At the Palmerston stock sale on Thursday the strange sight was witnessed of a mite of a boy, apparently about- eight years of age, bidding against old experienced, buyers for a }en < f cull lambs. After some corapet tion the line was knocked down o a dealer. Thereupon the tiny bidder made his way to the buyer in order to negotiate a purchase at the realised pi ice, and w t hs successful. Shortly afterwards the young sheepfarmer was otser/ed mounted on a pony, and provided with spurs and a big whip, ordering about three or four youngsters of his own age. The lambs and their master passed out of the yards to attract the attention of the residents of Ratigitikei street, who found diversion no doubt in the unusual sight.
