STOCK SALES. At Addington yards last week the entries were : —14,156 sheep, 443 cattle, and 549 pigs. Of fat cattle 186 Lead were yarded. There was slow bidding and a drop of Is per 1001 b on last week’s prices. No North Island beasts were to hand. Steers, X 6 17s 6d to XIO 17s 6d ; heifers, X 5 15 to X 7 1 7s 6d ; cows, X 5 to X 7 17s 6d, or equal to 16s to 21s per 1001 b. Store Cattle.—Strong competition for all classes. Tbree-year-old steers, X 6 10s to X 6 15 ; heifers, X 4 8s 6d : two-year steers, X 4 5s to X 4 9s ; 1 5 to 18-months c ittle, X2 5s to A 219 s ; yearlings, 24s to 37s 6d ; dry cows. 50s to 85s.

Dairy Cows —Average entry : X 7 1 7s 6d for good sorts: one really prime, XIO.

Fat Sheep —Fairly large number : the bulk crossbred ewes of good quality For freezing sheep there was fair competition, but spirited for good ewes, which advanced Is per head. For other ewes, bidding was irregular, but the tone firmer. Wethers, 13s 9d to 14s 6d for light weights; freezing weights, 15s to 16s 9d ; extra prime heavyweights, 17s to 17s 9<D ewes, sound mouth crossbred} 14s to 15s 7.d ; aged, 7s 4d to 13s 9d. " Fat Lambs —Smaller entry by nearly 1000, and falling off in quality as well as in competition. Good demand for best freezers, but prices easier ; 1587 sold at auction for freezing at 11s 4d to 14s sd. The trade took 313 at 10s t > 14s 2d ; graziers 246 at 10s 3d to 12s lOd. The remainder, 1120, were passed at auction at 10s to 1 2s 9d. Store Sheep —These were mostly North Island and Chatham Islands sheep. The bulk found buyers, and prices showed a slight improvement. Principal sales —192 four and six tooth crossbred wethers at 13s 7d, 67 at 13s 6d, 58 at 13s 3d, 196 at 12s 5d ; 128 two-tooth crossbred wethers at 12s lid, 270 at 11s 3d, 197 at 10s 5d : 93 four and six tooth crossbred ewes, 13s Id ; 122 mixed ages at 11s 6d, 124 at 10s Id ; aged, 7s 3d ; rape lambs, 9s 6d to 11s 4d ; stores, 5s to 7s Id. Pig S „-Good demand all round.

Messrs Freeman R. -Jackson and Co (in conjunction with Messrs Abraham and Williams) report that at their sale at Johnsonville, near Wellington, on Fiidav last as follows:—A smaller entry of beef than usual. From fair t > g )od quality sold on a par with late rates. Best bullocks made from X 8 15s to X 9 10s, others X 8 7s 6d to X 8 10s ; light bullocks, X 7 15s to X 8 ss, averaging 20s to 21s per 1001 b. Prime heavy ewes made 11s Id t'o 11s 7d ; gjod ewes, 10e to 10s 7d ; wethers, 7s 6d to 7s 7d. PRODUCE REPORT.
