WELLINGTON WOOL SALES.
Messrs Levin and Co., Limited, report at their wool sale on Friday last of the new seasons clip some 850 bales were offered by the various brokers The slie was held under the depressing influence of news of a further fall in the London crossbred market. Prices all round showed a fall as compared with the first sale of last season of 2d to 2|d per pound, but, of course, as the market has been steadily dropping for the past twelve months growers have been led to look for the present low values. The following table will show the movement of prices as compared with December last year.
As to the following sales of this season the prices likely to rule thereat will depend on the course of the London sales now current, but we would suggest to growers that they should try the local market if they are ipreparrd to take such prices as we have quoted above.
